Building personal and meaningful relationships with our clients is a priority for us and the Stephensons team. Our dedicated team of branch managers and sales consultants love getting to know our clients and tailoring their service and experience uniquely to them. That’s why we’ve decided to launch a new series on our blog, Meet Our Team. Today, we’re starting with Nick Lawrence, Associate Partner, and Manager of our residential sales teams in Boroughbridge and Easingwold.
This week, our marketing team sat down with Nick to ask him some burning questions so you can get to know him a bit more. Since joining us in 2011, Nick became an Associate Partner in 2017 and is an incredibly valued team member. He is the secret sauce to us, maintaining an enviable lead in the market in both Boroughbridge and Easingwold, which is no surprise considering his dynamic, innovative, and modern approach to residential sales and marketing. We hope you enjoy this sit down with Nick and remember to follow him on Instagram @nicklawrence_property.
It was 1985, mortgage rates were around 13%, I’d just turned 21 and I was filling in time waiting to join the RAF by working in a restaurant. One night a random customer, who just so happened to be an estate agent, said “I think you’re wasted waiting on tables young man, you should be selling houses!”. He was right, and in between the main course and dessert, he offered me a job and I’ve never looked back. So, you could say that I’ve been “flying” ever since!
The longer you do something that you really enjoy, the more you learn and the better you get at what you love to do. In 1985 I prided myself on how straight I could stick a photo onto a personally typed brochure of flowery fluff, in 1995 my mobile phone was the size of a house brick and in 2005 I thought I’d won the Lottery when I received my first laser tape measure! Today alas, no one wants to see a brochure. So, listing a property isn’t just about measuring it up, it’s analysing buyer behaviour, professional photography, drones, social media reels & creating personal marketing plans for our clients.
I’ve had family connections to Easingwold since the 1980’s so it very much feels like home to me and as for Boroughbridge, well that’s a hidden gem. It’s one of those towns that you know is there but never had reason to venture out that far to visit it. You should, it’s a great place to live.
If you’d asked me that question this time last year, I would have said our energy and expertise but today I’d invite anyone who’s thinking of selling to visit our Instagram or TikTok accounts to see why and what we’re doing to set our clients properties apart from the rest in an ever-increasing crowded market.
Even though we recorded some phenomenal sales figures in 2023, I can only see a much busier period ahead of us this year and next. So many people have had their house moves on hold for far too long now, some because of interest rates, some even since Covid! So yes, it’s a great time to buy and sell.
Instruct the right estate agent!
When your property eventually hits Rightmove as a “New Listing” it will only have one (yes, just one) chance to make a first impression to thousands of prospective buyers when they see it in their search results. I wouldn’t say that good marketing is important, I’d say it was vital.
The thought has never crossed my mind so I can’t help you on that one!
Filming a fab 4 bed property that we’re getting “market ready” on Saturday morning, valuation emails and a viewing in the afternoon and on Sunday, I’ll be recharging with Alfie and the chance for us to both stretch our legs. Fingers crossed for a bit of sunshine.
However they wish to! Call us on our freephone number, call in, email us, or send us a message on social media and we’ll get right back to you.
We asked Nick to pick his two favourite properties on the market as our featured properties for this Easter weekend! We’re delighted to present Nick’s Featured Properties, The Paddock and Jessamine House. If you’re interested in learning more or want to book your private viewing, contact Nick via 07793 398588 or nick.lawrence@stephensons4property.co.uk.
“Our entire social media marketing team fell head over heels in love with this property the moment we all walked through the door to film it. Beautifully presented, bags of open plan living space, a wow factor kitchen that takes your breath away and a luxurious bathroom that you can so easily get lost in. I’d describe this beauty as quite simply, the perfect “grown-ups” property.”

“OK, so I don’t actually have a horse (or any intention of getting one) but I absolutely adore this cottage. It’s got so many nooks, crannies and beams, all the latch doors creak and it’s got so many rooms, some of which don’t even make sense! It’s a proper Yorkshire cottage in a lovely little village overlooked by the White Horse at Kilburn.”

Launching this Easter weekend is something extraordinary indeed. We can’t say too much right now, but we’re incredibly excited to offer our clients marketing for their property that is so enhanced and elevated that it’s like nothing the North Yorkshire market has ever seen.
